U P Asbestos plans expansion programme at Mohanlalganj

U P Asbestos Ltd is planning to expand its manufacturing facility in Mohanlalganj in Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh. The project involves expanding production capacity of asbestos roofing sheet capacity from 144,000 tpa to 195,000 tpa.

The proposed increase in production will be achieved by keeping Chrysotile Asbestos Fibre 11100 MT per annum as existing but increasing cotton Rag Pulp from 2220 MT per annum to 5000 MT per annum along with addition of 600 MT synthetic fibre (recron) per annum. Land required for the project is around 46 acres which is already available. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 52.9 million. As of January 2019, the project is in planning stage.
