Jaypee Cement to set up 6.0 mtpa cement unit in Bankur in Gulbarga

Jaypee Cement Corp (formerly Zawar Cements) is planning to set up a 6.0 million tpa integrated cement unit in Bankur village in Chittapur Tehsil in Gulbarga district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 30,000 million. The project will set up in 2 phases of 3.0 mtpa and will also have a captive power plant of 90 MW (30 MW in phase I and 60 MW in phase II).

The project will use the existing Zawar Cement land raw materials will be sourced from captive mines of Bankur, Masrawada and Taranhalli mines. Adani Enterprises will supply coal to the tune of 1.4 mtpa from South Africa and Indonesia.
