About the Company :
The company was incorporated on June 19, 1986 as Ashoka Concrete and allied industries and it started business activity by manufacturing Portland Slag Cement(PSC) in October 1991. On September 2001, the name of the firm was changed to Burnpur Cement. On November 2001 the firm became a public limited company. It started with a modest capacity of 30 tpd in Asansol to produce Portland Slag cement. Now its current capacity is around 1000 tonnes per day and is one of the largest integrated cement company in north eastern India. It also exports its produce to Bangladesh. It also received ISO 9002 /9001 certifications in 2003.
BCL has also set up an 0.33 mmtpa clinker and grinding unit at Patratu, Jharkhand, at an estimated cost of Rs. 197.4 crore, funded by a debt to equity ratio of 1.72: 1. The project has achieved financial closure with the tie -up of the entire debt amount and had been commissioned in 2015.
